Abstract Objective: To identify the means of recovery and ergo-nutritional used by coaches participants in Medellin 2010 South American Games with their athletes, how to recognize if they have the support of other interdisciplinary professionals. Materials and methods: quantitative and cross-sectional descriptive scope. The purposive sample consisted of 93 technicians from 13 countries in 28 different sports; the study took place in Medellin Colombia, during the month of March 2010. Results: Stretching exercises and massage are the means of recovery used by the coaches themselves as 50 % of them using ergonomic aids nutritional vitamins being the most preferred.79.3 % of coaches with the help of an interdisciplinary team, with the physician and the psychologist the most presence. Conclusions: All South American coaches surveyed, various therapeutic methods commonly used for the physical recovery of his team. Similarly, one out of two ergonomic aids used nutritional supplement in the diet. These elements are used looking to improve athletic performance and decrease muscle injuries. Most coaches, has a team of interdisciplinary work that enhances their performance.
