Abstract

Objetive: To determine the quality of life perceived by the familiar keeper of the patient with renal chronic insufficiency in Cartagena. Methodology: Descriptive Study, there were studied keepers of renal patients who were present at institutions prestadoras of services of hemodiálisis and dialysis peritoneal in Cartagena. I estimate a sample of 225 keepers, chosen in random form. The qualit mea-surement of life was realized by means of the instrument proposed by Ferrel. There was in use the statistical IT program of the social sciences for Windows (SPSS 15,0) the results expressed in measures of central, average trend and standard diversion. Results: 225 keepers informed, 75,1 % in ranges between 36 to 59 years of age, 76,9 feminine %. In the keepers Physical well-being with an average in 9.0, below the average, a standard diversion of 2,4. The Psychological and social well-being, they present a high range of affectation with an average of 28.5, standard diversion in 6,5, one average of 15,8 with a standard diversion of 3,8, respectively. The spiritual well-being Had an average of 16,3 with a standard diversion of 3,1. Conclusions: The being keeper alters the quality of life in the dimensions Physical, Psychological and Social, due to the obligations that it attributes to have taken care of another person to post.
