BARRERA ORTIZ, Lucy et al. Epistemologic and ontologic analysis of the nursing practice with cancer people and their families. Salud, Barranquilla [online]. 2014, vol.30, n.2, pp.210-216. ISSN 2011-7531.
Objective: To propose and valídate a guide for the analysis of epistemological and ontological aspects of nursing according to the theory "Nursing as caring". Method: A case study in which starting with the review of the theory "Nursing as caring", a guide is proposed and validated for the analysis of the experience of 20 nurses working in oncology in an institution that is a national reference center. Results: The narratives analyzed in the light of the theory of "Nursing as caring", al-lowed the nurses to identify what is called "Nursing situations" and recognized by nurses as good practices. The guide allowed the identification of nursing care and the recognition of their ontological and epistemological aspects. Conclusión: The guide proposed under the theory of "Nursing as caring" was validated with the analysis of epistemological and ontological aspects of the caring experiences of 20 oncology nurses. The guide was helpful in order to facilitate understanding of the experience of care and permitted nurses to develop an awareness exercise of their clinical practice, required for the practice qualification.
