Tuberculosis is one of the oldest diseases known to man, one of its deadliest clinical presentations is meningeal tuberculosis. The history of meningeal tuberculosis encompasses a series of remarkable events as well as a vast number of people that were involved in the description of this disease, its diagnosis, management, and the way it has changed over many decades. This article presents an overview of the history of meningeal tuberculosis, and its most noteworthy details.
