BONAN, Leonor et al. The Significance of Water Cycle: Exploring Ways to Build an Intercultural Scientific Education. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.50, pp.15-33. Epub May 09, 2022. ISSN 0121-3814. https://doi.org/10.17227/ted.num50-14208.
This work presents part of the research results of the Research Group in Intercultural Scientific Education (ISE Group) of the CeFIE Institute of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (FENS) of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). To develop this process, some educational institutions that are attended by students from the qom native people, were intervened by the investigators. Being part of an action research on Intercultural Scientific Education (ECI), its specific objective was to find points of contact or links between scientific knowledge and vernacular through a common theme in a qom community of Chaco and Formosa provinces, Argentina. A series of exploratory didactic activities were designed in such a way as to reveal the appearance of scientific cultural components and vernacular on water, one of the most important elements for human life. Starting from putting into dialogue three ancient stories where different beings from the qom culture intervene related to the chosen topic and the processes that water goes through from the school science point of view. Part of the general research is the creation of intercultural teaching materials to raise awareness of the cultural diversity that integrates our society.
