Abstract

ACUNA VILLARRAGA, Fabián Alejandro. MORE PRIMARIES, BETTER RESULTS? POLITICAL PRIMARIES FOR THE SELECTION OF CANDIDATES IN THE 2015 SUBNATIONAL ELECTIONS. anal.polit. [online]. 2016, vol.29, n.88, pp.28-49. ISSN 0121-4705.  https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v29n88.63599.

This article reviews the principle assumptions found in literature on candidate selection mechanisms as instruments promoting democratization processes within political organizations. On the basis of such assumptions, the Colombian political primaries of the 25th of April, 2015 will be evaluated providing an additional perspective on the results of such primaries and their relation to the subnational elections held in Colombia during October of 2015.

Keywords : "political primaries; theory; results; Colombia.
