Abstract
LOPEZ LOPEZ, PAULA ANDREA and CALDERON, CAMILO. CHARACTERIZATION OF THE STRATEGY CREATION IN FOREX MARKET ORGANIZATIONS. Rev.fac.cienc.econ. [online]. 2012, vol.20, n.1, pp.37-56. ISSN 0121-6805.
The purpose of this research is to determine the characteristics of strategic approaches adopted by Forex market organizations in the strategy creation process, since the typology used by 10 schools of strategy Mintzberg, Ahlstrand and Lampel (1998). The dimensions of study adopted were: the adopted and desired strategic approach, the strategic process, content and strategy context. The target population included the FX traders (FX acronym for Foreign Exchange) from forty two countries including Colombia. The main findings include the trend of the organizations to change from a strategic approach to an approach based on market positions, clearly pre-formulated in the following directions: first, towards an approach based on pre-formulation but with simplicity in the variables to consider; second, a strategy change oriented to a learning approach without the rigidity of pre-formulation; and finally, an approach that seeks for alliances with other agents beyond the economic view.
