Abstract
PARRA ALVIZ, Mercedes; LOPEZ POSADA, Laura Marcela and RUBIO GUERRERO, Germán. Multidimensional Characterization of the Female Entrepreneur: Empirical Case in the Municipalities of Florencia (Caquetá) and Ibagué (Tolima), Colombia. Rev.fac.cienc.econ. [online]. 2020, vol.28, n.1, pp.9-26. Epub Nov 24, 2020. ISSN 0121-6805. https://doi.org/10.18359/rfce.4012.
The article intends to show the results of quantitative research into the aspects that influenced the ability of female entrepreneurs in the Colombian cities of Florencia and Ibagué to set up and consolidate their production projects. For this, a previously validated questionnaire was administered to 198 women from these two populations, whose information was then processed using descriptive analysis, principal components, and multiple linear regression of multivariate analysis. The findings demonstrate that the variables of time as an entrepreneur, definition and strategic positioning of the company, and academic training not only allowed these women to improve their entrepreneurial skills, but also their methods, way of thinking, and ability to identify opportunities for new businesses. It is also observed that the number of employees at the service of the organization also influenced the creation of their companies.
