Abstract
OSORIO HERNANDEZ, Juan. Doha Round: Keys to Understand the Impact on Latin America and the Caribbean's Agricultural and Industrial Sustainability. Pap.polit. [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.2, pp.615-652. ISSN 0122-4409.
This article intends to contribute to an understanding of the multilateral trade system, which is especially useful for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Taking into account the present state of the negotiations, the article will evaluate the latest text on the modalities of access of non-agricultural goods to markets (AMNA text from Ambassador Don Stephenson) and the latest text on modalities of agriculture (AG text from Ambassador Crawford Falconer), in an attempt to uncover the meaning of contemporary international economic law and the role that the developing countries can play in this emergent/law. With that purpose, we search for inconsistencies among the various disciplines incorporated by both texts, the positive aspects related to the differential and special treatment for developing countries, and the differing views of several actors on each specific point.
Keywords : Latin America; Foreign economic relations; Commercial law; Trade negotiations.
