Abstract

GRANADOS ERAZO, Óscar. Diplomacy, Strategy and Internationalization of Brazil's Energy Policy in South America, 2000-2011. Pap.polit. [online]. 2012, vol.17, n.2, pp.551-576. ISSN 0122-4409.

The transformation of the energy matrix of Brazil in recent years has been critical to the consolidation of its energy security. However, the objectives of regional power, economic and population growth and improvement in per capita income, present a scenario where, despite the self, Brazil requires the internationalization of its energy policy in South America for resources that will be demanded in the coming decades, to facilitate their international progress and long-term production sustainability. For this, the joint public-private diplomacy with Petrobras and BNDES is essential, because it connect the national interest, and economic and corporate diplomacy, and in turn, promotes regional energy integration that facilitates the generation of economies of scale, intraregional trade and creating an electrical and energy industry with added value.
