This article presents the impact that schooling will have upon wages in the city of Cali for the year 2000. We used the job market signaling model, in particular, Hungerford and Solon´s sheepskin effects in the returns to education. Our results show that there is an extra 37% of profit among wages for each additional college degree and a 12% of profit among wages for a high school degree. In addition, this article discusses the need to carry out a survey that can help identify the impact that schooling has upon wages.
