Abstract

FEITO CESPON, Michael; CESPON CASTRO, Roberto; MARTINEZ CURBELO, Gretel  and  COVAS VARELA, Daylí. Financial and ecological diagnosis of the supply chain for recycling plastics in the Cuban business context. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2015, vol.31, n.136, pp.347-358. ISSN 0123-5923.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.estger.2015.03.005.

The supply chain for recycling plastic in Cuba has been presenting low performance for several years, so the objective of this paper is to perform a strategic diagnosis of its management that integrates the economic and environmental dimensions. To carry out this purpose we have used the thinking processes developed within the theory of constraints, which are reinforced with life cycle assessment, statistical techniques and discrete multicriteria methods. The results of the diagnosis demonstrate the necessity of redesigning strategic decisions taking economic and environmental criteria into account to achieve the sustainable performance of the studied supply chain.
