RAFFO, Leonardo and HERNANDEZ, Edwin Arbey. Social reproduction crisis and pandemic. Rev.econ.inst. [online]. 2021, vol.23, n.45, pp.203-225. Epub Sep 01, 2022. ISSN 0124-5996. https://doi.org/10.18601/01245996.v23n45.10.
This article examines how the dynamics of capital accumulation have shaped the development and socio-economic effects of COVID-19. We argue that in order to properly understand the social and economic crisis unleashed by the pandemic, it is necessary to consider the contradiction between capital accumulation and the processes of social reproduction, which have deepened over recent years, as well as the resurgence of populist and nationalist movements around the world.
