Abstract
CABRERA IZQUIERDO, Lorena Elizabeth; MEJIA TURIZO, Jorge; FERRER HERRERA, María Angélica and LASTRA MIER, Roberto. The Juvenile Offender: A Perspective in Line with the sustainable development goals. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the international and national regulations applicable to juvenile offenders, and their close relationship, in terms of the preventive aspect, with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in terms of peace, justice, and strong institutions. For this purpose, a qualitative, deductive methodology was used, applying a hermeneutic paradigm and using documentary analysis as a data collection technique. The results showed that an effective performance in juvenile delinquency prevention policies can be consolidated as an indicator of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fundamentally those related to institutional strength, peace, and justice. However, the conclusion is that it is necessary to increase the qualitative and quantitative efforts of Colombian authorities to achieve the realization and materialization of national and international instruments for crime prevention, resocialization, and comprehensive protection. This is analyzed beyond its simple corrective vision, but in its focus on full attention, understanding from the structural causes, that adolescents are not essentially perpetrators, but victims of a system that does not provide the conditions for integral growth and formation.
