Abstract

This paper aims to study the different ways in using, appropriating, and transforming characteristic of the urban spaces at the La Parada region, part of the Villa del Rosario municipality, located at the Colombia-Venezuela border. The reader has the possibility of covering. First, the literature which speaks on concepts like city, border, binational spaces and public spaces and, later on, focusing in the physical and life reality in a border zone which is framed and grows among the informality. The accomplishment of such exercise is reached from the use of a qualitative methodology based on tools such as the participant observation which contemplate the guidelines to development of the diagnose and the sector characterization.
