Abstract

RAMIREZ-IBARRA, Ramón. Cityscape and fragmentation in the city. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2015, vol.25, n.1, pp.123-130. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v1n25.47449.

The present work is a reflective exercise on the urban landscape and fragmentation, taking as a starting point the contributions of comprehensive sociology to the study of space. Thus, it is interpreted the emerging urban landscape of Greater Monterrey (AMM ) as a ultra fragmented representation of the Mexican city , the result of a social imaginary inability to generate effective and coordinated the making cultural city. Among the objectives of the text, overcoming the simple image of transgression between agricultural and urban, for effective ways to generate dynamic interaction for the dichotomy between local and global aims.

Keywords : comprehensive sociology; urban landscape; fragmentation; social inequality; social imaginary.
