In times of pandemic, cities and national territories show changes in the organization of economic activities and in the consumption practices of the population. Finance, as an activity in the upper circuit of the urban economy, finds new forms of expansion. Banks, traditional players in the upper circuit, along with other new players such as fintech, offer financial intermediation services in cities, based on technological modernization. The objective of the work is to show the phenomenon of financial expansion in cities of Argentina from actors that operate in the financial intermediation of electronic payments and reveal new forms of organization of the upper circuit. The methodological basis of research are academic papers, reports from the Banco Central de la República Argentina, and newspaper articles from newspapers and specialized thematic magazines.
