To evaluate current knowledge on the uses of palms in the Colombian Pacific, all sources of information on palm uses in this region were studied. The uses were grouped into eight categories and 30 subcategories of use. Most species are used for construction, tools, and utensils and human food. The species with the highest number of uses were Bactris gasipaes, Astrocaryum standleyanum, Oenocarpus bataua, Euterpe oleraceae, Oenocarpus minor, Cocos nucifera, Attalea cuatrecasana, Iriartea deltoidea, Desmoncus cirrhifer and Wettinia quinaria.
