Abstract
ROGER, Enrique; PALACIO, Manuel O.; DIAZ, Rita A. and O'LEARY, Nataly. Composition of vascular flora in the northeast region of Santiago del Estero (Argentina). Caldasia [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.1, pp.235-243. ISSN 0366-5232. https://doi.org/10.15446/caldasia.v41n1.72075.
The floristic composition of the semiarid forest was studied in the northeast region of the province of Santiago del Estero (Argentina). The list of the vascular flora obtained from literature, consultation in herbaria and digital databases, and from specimens collected through fifteen field seasons between 2012 and 2017. A total of 72 botanical families, 267 genera, and 413 species in four vegetation units were recorded, of these, 347 species are native, 31 are endemic from Argentina and the Chaco region, and nine species are new to the flora of Santiago. The three most diverse families, Asteracee, Poaceae and Fabaceae, concentrate 33% of species. The site protects a third of the known species for flora of Santiago del Estero.
