Abstract
CELIS-GRANADA, Monica Sirley et al. Fishes of the Peregrinos lagoon complex in Caquetá River, municipality of Solano, Caquetá, Colombia. Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2022, vol.46, n.179, pp.460-469. Epub Sep 12, 2023. ISSN 0370-3908. https://doi.org/10.18257/raccefyn.1596.
To record the diversity of fishes present in the lagoon complex Peregrinos located in the municipality of Solano, Caquetá, we conducted a rapid ecological evaluation from October 30 to November 2, 2018, and from March 30 to April 11, 2021. The specimens were collected during day and night samplings in 12 river habitats using different fishing gear. We captured 1.527 individuals distributed in seven orders, 35 families, and 153 species. The order Characiformes had 47.7% of the total species richness and the highest number of families. Orders such as Cyprinodontiformes and Synbranchiformes recorded each only one species from the entire sample. The family Characidae had the highest number of species (28; 18.3%), as well as the most abundant species, Hyphessobrycon sp1 with 19.7 %. Only one individual was collected for 50 taxa, among them Leporinus fasciatus, Chilodus punctatus, Heros severus, Plagioscion squamosissimus, and Helogenes marmoratus. Seventeen species are migratory and 54.9% have commercial value as ornamental or food. The habitat with the greatest richness was lagoon two (70 species). Our study indicated that the complex has 34.6% of the fish reported in the SIB; besides, new records were included in the ichthyological collection of the Museo de Historia Natural - Universidad de la Amazonia, Colombia (UAM).
