Abstract
CORTES-GARZON, Liliana. Culture, artistic practices and urban space in the San Cristóbal town: Case Southeast Bogotá. Rev. Arquit. (Bogotá) [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.1, pp.127-136. Epub June 16, 2023. ISSN 1657-0308. https://doi.org/10.14718.revarq.2023.25.3864.
Some artistic practices in an informal urban environment in San Cristóbal town of Bogotá, D.C., are anlyzed. The relationship established by community environments with informal urban practices presents a use of public space with cultural activities as part of associative networks between com-munity groups, and a large typology of arts that are practiced in cultural spaces as forms of resistance to the symbolic and physical violence with which they coexist in urban space. In this way, artistic practices manage to become an alternative of cultural transformation as activities that become innovative and collective possibilities and ways of life, a cultural alternative that promotes territorial appropriation, the defense of rights in the face of informality in urban construction, and the defense of natural reserves and cultures as forms of knowledge.
