Abstract
AVILA-GOMEZ, Andrés and VELEZ SANTAMARIA, David. Reflections on the teaching of architecture and urban planning in Colombia. Conversations with Lorenzo Fonseca Martínez, Carlos Niño Murcia and Fernando Viviescas Monsalve. Rev. Arquit. (Bogotá) [online]. 2024, vol.26, n.1, pp.5-28. Epub Apr 20, 2024. ISSN 1657-0308. https://doi.org/10.14718/revarq.2024.26.5278.
The interviews that make up this third series have in common elements that reinforce the idea of the deferred influence that May '68 had on the teaching of architecture in Colombia, through dynamics and actors that have not yet been fully recognized by national historiography. The testimony of architects Lorenzo Fonseca, Carlos Niño, and Fernando Viviescas underlines, among other aspects, the growing importance that Colombian schools of architecture gave in the 1970s to degrees obtained in Europe and the United States by young professionals eager to pursue a career as teachers and researchers. Although in the following decades this reality became a requirement for the practice of teaching, it is appropriate to take a sociological perspective on these phenomena that occurred during the last quarter of the century in Colombia.
