Abstract

In Latin America and Colombia, has predominated in the education sector styles of management and institutional cultures anchored in instrumental conceptions, that have generated school organizations antidemocratic and devoid of humanism. The purpose of this work descriptive-qualitative is to make visible this reality, the empirical component or empirical field occurrence is the district of Barranquilla-Colombia, the description and analysis are based in official documents where are reflected the public policy in educational matter -plans of developmentobservational processes made in the same school organizations, the opinions issues of educational community members and the theorical constructs that support the educational fact and their processes of management from the conceptions of modernity, postmodernity and critical theory.
