Abstract

RAMIREZ-VALBUENA, Wilmar Ángel. Inclusion: a History of Exclusion in the Teaching-Learning Process. Cuad. linguist. hisp. [online]. 2017, n.30, pp.211-230. ISSN 0121-053X.  https://doi.org/10.19053/0121053x.n30.0.6195.

Since the beginnings of civilization, some people have been socially excluded because of cognitive, physical, religious, economic and ideological reasons. An integral development has been denied to this population, creating gaps between them and the rest of society. This article analyzes an inclusive education project implemented in the educational institution Técnico Industrial de Jenesano (Boyacá) in 2011. In order to present the results of this research, surveys, direct observation and other research tools were used. The findings suggest great achievements regarding the assimilation of children with special needs to traditional classroom environments. Mistakes made with students who didn't belong to inclusive education groups and felt excluded after taking part in them were also recognized thanks to this research.

Keywords : inclusion; exclusion; pedagogy; disability; ability.
