Abstract

This review article addresses the question about the production of the field education and technology relationships from a pedagogical perspective. It is an exploratory exercise based on a documentary and categorical search of articles published by the Pedagogía y Saberes journal between 1990 and 2017. The analysis suggests that, in order to understand that field, it is necessary to overcome the school boundaries and the roles that are traditionally assigned to it. In this sense, the paper shows some relationships materialized in ideas that present the teachers point of view about the cultural and educational transformations generated by technological developments. The article is organized in three sections that present the core concepts of the relationship between education and technology: the pedagogical analysis of the effects of media in education; the search for inclusion with the use of technology and virtual education; and the subjectivity and interaction experience in technological environments. As conclusion, we highlight the importance of critical reflection made by education and technology researchers with the analysis of the effect of media in education, from a pedagogical perspective; the technology incorporation process for the inclusion of subjects with disabilities and vulnerable populations; and the significance of the relationship between subjectivity and technology as a cultural setting.
