This article explores the possibilities of dialogue between school scientific knowledge and traditional local knowledge that are acquired at the schools of the Wayuu ethnic community, based on the recognition of native medicinal plants present in the territory. The method was qualitative using participant observation, in which, from the creation of a tale, children gave answers about traditional knowledge of native plants. From the analysis of the experience, it is concluded that native plants and traditional local knowledge allow interaction with scientific knowledge mediated by a cultural tale at the schools of the Wayuu community.
