Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) has become an increasingly important topic for businesses as they significantly impact the environment and society. As companies seek to adopt more sustainable practices, a strategic and radically innovative approach is needed that focuses on social, economic, and environmental sustainability throughout supply chains. Therefore, the objective was to systematically review recent literature on disruptive innovations in SSCM, specifically in the context of small and medium-sized enterprises. The results describe the theoretical and empirical concepts of the studies found regarding four specific practices (with a greater disruptive focus): fair trade, circular economy, local sourcing, and organic production, without disregarding the existence of many others. In conclusion, integrating these sustainable innovations points towards a more comprehensive SSCM thanks to dynamic capabilities, such as integration with stakeholders.
