Abstract

CUNADO, Jorge Hernando  and  ENRIQUEZ ROMAN, Javier Antonio. Future scenarios: a prospective analysis of automation and the environmental crisis. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2021, vol.19, n.36, pp.1105-1120.  Epub Nov 01, 2021. ISSN 1900-6586.  https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.856.

The 21st century has brought about a dual and contradictory crisis arising from automation and environmental degradation, two factors that give uncertainty to this historical epoch. This article addresses some of the interactions between these two dynamics in the field of Security through prospective techniques. It analyzes four reports from different organizations, uncovering key future trends in the area of Security: migratory movements associated with climate change, social instability caused by technological changes, or the outbreak of pandemics associated with the deterioration of ecosystems. This prospective analysis allows modeling the future through present actions to break the aura of inevitability regarding the negative consequences of these two factors.

Keywords : automation; climate change; immigration; prospective; robotization; security.
