Abstract
BARRERO-BARRERO, David and VELASQUEZ FANDINO, Laity Alvinzy. A Hundred threats to global security: an overview of human dignity in the 21st Century. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.40, pp.1064-1086. Epub Oct 01, 2022. ISSN 1900-6586. https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.967.
This article examines the standing threats to global security in the 21st century to identify and classify them. A hundred threats and social and environmental vulnerabilities were identified through the hermeneutic analogical documentary analysis of 25 sources, mainly supranational documents. These were organized based on supranational theories and theorists, such as Bouthoul, Kaldor, and Hamilton, in a four-group structure: traditional threats, new threats, asymmetric attacks on the population, and social and environmental vulnerabilities. Finally, the article addresses the ethical problem implied by these prevailing threats that continue to menace human dignity.
