Abstract
MEDINA-HERNANDEZ, Edith Johana; MARBELLO YEPES, Kelly Johanna and SIADO-CASTANEDA, Luis Ricardo. Perspectives on peace in the world: multivariate analysis from the Sustainable Development Goals. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2023, vol.21, n.42, pp.404-430. Epub Apr 01, 2023. ISSN 1900-6586. https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.1038.
This article analyzes peace as a dimension of sustainable development, using multivariate techniques to study the relationships between eight indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals, according to data reported by 145 countries up to the year 2021. The differences and similarities between countries are described, according to whether they belong to the global north or south, as well as by continent, in order to observe the relevance of forming a cluster of nations. It is concluded that there is great heterogeneity between countries and regions, and the corruption perception index is one of the indicators that generates the greatest differentiation. Six clusters of countries are also delimited by similar situations, which make it possible to summarize the challenges faced by countries in promoting peace, justice and the constitution of solid government institutions.
