ABSTRACT This article had the objective to analyze the associated factors in onion production of Ocaña province (Colombia) using four fertilizer formulas. The research followed quantitative focus, experimental design and factorial analysis techniques, through four treatments distributed in small plots with home-made organic fertilizer with chicken manure, bovine excrement, coffee pulp with sugar cane mash and commercial organic fertilizer. Four factors were associated to onion production in Ocaña province: menaces, ground characteristics, logistics, investment and infrastructure; with explanatory variables: zone, variety, plague, technology and commercial channels. Bigger development was obtained with commercial organic fertilizer. There exist significant differences in fertilization effects between home-made fertilizer and commercial fertilizer.
