Abstract

Collaboration between supply-chain's partners is one of the most promising areas of study for both the academic and practitioners, since there are several benefits that can be achieve by companies and supply chains. This article presents an overview of collaborative inventory management, which is one of the most important strategies that seek to reduce costs and improve service level in order to satisfy customers. The article reviews the collaborative inventory models found in the scientific literature, discusses the most common barriers to its implementation and proposes some alternatives to remove these obstacles.
