Abstract
MARQUEZ GIRON, Sara María; MOSQUERA BALLESTEROS, Roberto; HERRERA TORRES, Márgela and MONEDERO, Cristian. Study of the absorption and distribution of chlorpyrifos in plants of Kikuyo grass (Pennisetum clandestinum Hochst ex chiov.) in hydroponics. Rev Colom Cienc Pecua [online]. 2010, vol.23, n.2, pp.158-165. ISSN 0120-0690.
Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate insecticide Category II, used for chemical control of pests in the grasslands used for dairy production in the northern Antioquia. A study was conducted to know the behavior of bioaccumulation of chlorpyrifos in plant tissue (stem and foliage) of kikuyu grass (Pennisetum clandestinum Hochst ex chiov.), with two doses of the pesticide and the dynamics of the processes of product accumulation. The study was developed in a hydroponic cultivation of grass in the shed of the farm Montaña, owned by the University of Antioquia. We used two concentrations of commercial chlorpyrifos (200 and 400 cc / ha), will be monitored for 72 hours after application. The quantification was made by gas chromatography. Statistical analysis was done with the program SAS Mixed procedure with repeated measures and comparisons of means was made by the Tukey-Kramer test. The results showed a higher bioaccumulation in the root matrix in the matrix foliage.
