ALEZONES-CAMPOS, Zuleika; BAQUERO-ROMERO, Yeison; BORRERO-GUERRERO, Henrry and BECKER, Marcelo. Recognising isolated words for mobile robot navigation control. Orinoquia [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.1, pp.121-134. ISSN 0121-3709.
Using computational tools facilitatingbio-inspired models has led to developing a system for characterising voicecommands for controlling a prototype hexapod mobile robot"s navigation. Asoftware subsystem was set up, as well as another mechanical and electronicsubsystem. The software subsystem consisted of a prototype programme written inJava consisting of five modules (obtaining the spoken signal, extractingcharacteristics, comparing characteristics, defining commands for transmittingthe mini-robot actuators using a digital gene and the control actioncommunication module) so that the application was able to recognise isolated, predefined words in Spanish emitted by a native speaker. Commands correspondingto the mobile robot"s navigation were thus generated; such commands had to betransmitted to the respective actuators and thus an interface made with asimple electronic circuit was thus used for this purpose.
