Abstract

Este artículo analiza el comportamiento de la estructura industrial de Colombia y sus regiones entre 1974 y 2005, con el propósito de determinar si la reforma liberal implementada a finales del siglo XX profundizó el estancamiento de la industria y su poca diversificación. Se concluye que la desaceleración del crecimiento industrial y el estancamiento de la transformación productiva se profundizaron con el modelo aperturista, dada la mayor competencia para las industrias nacionales. El proceso no fue idéntico en todas las regiones analizadas, las más industrializadas (Antioquia, Atlántico, Valle del Cauca y Bogotá) se desindustrializaron, por el contrario las de menor desarrollo (Bolívar y Cundinamarca) presentaron un proceso inverso.
