Abstract
RUALES SALCEDO, Ángela Viviana; ROJAS GONZALEZ, Andrés Felipe and BARRAZA BURGOS, Juan Manuel. Thermogravimetric characterization of chars of waste from Isabella grape (Vitis labrusca). Ing. Desarro. [online]. 2018, vol.36, n.2, pp.398-417. ISSN 0122-3461. https://doi.org/10.14482/inde.36.2.10379.
This article describes the thermogravimetric analysis of carbonized crop residues (branches) and processing of grapes (stalks, skins and seeds). Chars were obtained in a devolatilization system to 600 and 800 °C, under nitrogen atmosphere with 2.00 % oxygen in volume. Chars were characterized by proximate and ultimate analysis, and through the dynamic thermogravimetry in an oxidizing atmosphere. From proximate analysis it was determined the reactivity index (MV/CF), with ultimate analysis was obtained the atomic ratios H/C and O/C, and by means of thermogravimetric analysis the profiles combustion of grape waste was obtained (curves TG-DTG). It was found that the devolatilization process increases the energy value of the waste without devolatilization. Moreover, the reactivity index (MV/CF) and the atomic ratios H/C and O/C, decrease with increasing devolatilization temperature. It was also found that the profiles combustion of all waste have three peaks degradation, consisting of a drying zone and two reaction zones, one of which is release and volatile matter combustion and the other zone is fixed carbon combustion.
