This paper describes how the deasphalted oil (DAO) or demetalized oil (DMO) quality (CCR, Ni, V and asphaltenes contents) changes with: DAO or DMO yield, solvent/feed ratio, type of vacuum resid ( from paraffinic to blends with visbreaking bottoms), extraction temperature and extraction solvent ( propane, propilene, n-butane and i-butane)
