Abstract

This paper has the objective to review hemoglobin, one of the most studied and characterized proteins. Hemoglobin is a very important protein in biology. Although the first papers were written in 19th century, today a lot of amazing discoveries are shown, like new globins neuroglobin and cytoglobin and, nitric oxide interactions. In addition, hemoglobinopathies are a medicines challenge for applying basic research to the patients attendance.
