This article focuses in the analysis of literature with dogs as narrators, as a source of collective imagination on their relationship with humans. It analyses the content of tales and novels in Spanish and English languages from the 17th century up to the present day. Some takeaways emerging from this analysis are a genetics-environment strain, race-based inequalities, interspecies communication, moral behavior, and dreams as dimensions of social structure and people self-knowledge.
Keywords : zoonosis; dog illnesses; literature; interspecies relations; public health..
