Abstract
KELITA VANEGAS, Orfa. Hero, History, and Sham in La carroza de Bolívar by Evelio Rosero. perifrasis. rev.lit.teor.crit. [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.7, pp.132-148. ISSN 2145-8987.
The transgressive artistic intention in the reshaping of historical events that have given form to the Colombian nation, along with the delusive meaning obtained by founding heroes are evident again in the novel La carroza de Bolívar (2012) by Evelio Rosero. In it, a complex thematic and stylistic interweaving animates the painful memories of Independence struggles, where the carnivalesque and phony deeds of people structure an ample framework of writings, rewritings, versions, and diversions that pretend to dismantle the historical, political, and sociocultural ideologies of Colombians about the beginning of the Nation.
Keywords : La carroza de Bolívar; Evelio Rosero; history; carnavalization; memory.
