Abstract

FEUILLET, Lucía. WITCHES, EXORCISTS AND POSSESSED. HORROR, POLICE GENRE AND CONSPIRACY IN LEONARDO OYOLA Y NICOLÁS CORREA. perifrasis. rev.lit.teor.crit. [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.25, pp.78-95.  Epub Feb 25, 2022. ISSN 2145-8987.  https://doi.org/10.25025/perifrasis202213.25.05.

This article analyzes the novels Santería and Sacrificio, by Leonardo Oyola, and Súcubo and Incubo, by Nicolás Correa, from the perspective of the dialectical hermeneutics proposed by Fredric Jameson. The study focuses on some features of police genre and horror to account for the plot as an ideologeme that expresses the antagonisms imposed by the social mode of production. The transgressive voices of a witch, an exorcist and a possessed woman allow access to these stories that superimpose the knowable and the esoteric, and articulate conspirational resistances.

Keywords : Leonardo Oyola; Nicolás Correa; dialectical hermeneutics; contemporary literature; Argentine.
