Abstract
SOTO, VIRGINIA INÉS and DURAN DE VILLALOBOS, MARÍA MERCEDES. Experiences of teenage pregnancy explained from the social standpoint. av.enferm. [online]. 2008, vol.26, n.2, pp.98-106. ISSN 0121-4500.
Describing and explaining from the social standpoint the experiences of pregnant teenagers, as the context for the provision of integral care, individualized and contextualized, is necessary for nursing practicing, and to address this phenomenon as a social fact, it is imperative to assimilate the realities of the social world to those of the world outside, adopting the principle that what they are is completely ignored, recognizing that the social fact cannot be modified by a simple will decree, but that it demands an extensive effort, considering the experience from outside and within. To present a conceptual and referential fra-mework from the social standpoint, interpreting the experience will enable the nurse to understand this phenomenon when such experiences involve or put at risk the pregnant adolescent, all the more since the clinic nursing practice has been studied primarily from a sociological perspective, since it shares a significant social importance and a social objective focused on facilitating, supporting and attending to individuals, families, communities and/or societies to enhance, maintain and recuperate health and to reduce and alleviate the effects of disease, with the explicit result of promoting the quality of life related with health within the immediate and broader environmental contexts.
