This article refers to the problem of controlling and managing future events and the importance of knowing how a phenomenon, an organisation or a system has evolved. The author thus proposes an alliance between two methods for analysing the future: forecasting and prospecting. The strengths and weaknesses of both methods are recognised in the search for objectivity and homogenisation, perhaps leaving actors´ subjective and contradictory behaviour in an even world.
