Abstract

LOSADA, Rodrigo. The parties and the political representation in a process of change. Civilizar [online]. 2012, vol.12, n.23, pp.97-110. ISSN 1657-8953.

This article points to two limitations in the Latin American literature that analyze the so-called crisis of political representation. The first one comes from the ambiguity with which the term "political party" as a concept is handled, and the second one highlights the scarce familiarity of the authors with the new perspectives on the political representation published in English. The diagnosis of the mentioned crisis, it is claimed, would gain, on the one hand, if it is made from a quantifiable concept of a political party, and on the other hand, if it incorporates some elements of the new, just mentioned, perspectives.

Keywords : Latin American; Crisis; Political parties; Political representations.
