Abstract
DIAZ ROMAN, Mario Pavel. Crime prevention and territorial deployment of the police in Mexico City. Evidence for debate. Rev. Crim. [online]. 2021, vol.63, n.2, pp.67-82. Epub Oct 02, 2020. ISSN 1794-3108. https://doi.org/10.47741/17943108.317.
Crime is a momentous public matter. To address it, different public policies have been developed, ranging from the deployment of police and military resources to the prevention of crime. In the latter case, and for Mexico City, various initiatives have been implemented; however, these have not been fully studied. Thus, the objective of the text is to show whether or not there is a correlation between the Modules of Crime Prevention and Citizen Participation and Crime Prevention of the Mexico City police with the criminal incidence operationalized with the homicide variable. To do this, different empirical observables based on theory were defined and several regression models were adjusted. The findings obtained are counterintuitive, this is that in those places where there are modules, the probability of occurrence of criminal incidents increases.
