Abstract
AVILA, Danae Duana. Consumo de los alimentos y su vinculación con el lugar de compra, en la zona norte de México. suma neg. [online]. 2011, vol.2, n.1, pp.61-77. Epub May 30, 2011. ISSN 2215-910X.
Since the 1980s, a natural significant transformation in the ways of commercialization and distribution of products was expected, particularly because economic and trade openness; however, it is in the 1990s that the flourishing of new commercial channels really offers a big diversification because of a new way to introduce food stuffs. Supermarkets acquire economic relevance. For this reason, this research provides a point of comparison before and after the North American Trade Agreement (NAFTA) signature, since it is assumed that some changes in the patterns of consumption of Mexican households have occurred, highlighting changes in the places where the food is acquired. To study the changes in consumption it is essential to analyze the incomes of Mexican families and the way in which is distributed, as this will make it possible to have a broader perspective of what a family can consume and the place where they can buy it. This analysis is performed through a Binomial Logit model.
