AGUDELO A., SANDRA and GUTIERREZ M., PAULA. SAVING WATER AND RAW MATERIAL IN THE PROCESS OF UNHAIRING AND TANNED BY MEANS OF PRECIPITATION AND RECIRCULATION OF WATER. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2007, vol.74, n.152, pp.241-250. ISSN 0012-7353.
: The principle of the process of chromium recovery consists on precipitate the chromium content in the residual liquor as a hydroxide using an alkali; this precipitate is separated for sedimentation and it is dissolved again with sulfuric acid. From the obtained results, removal percentages are observed over the 99%. With the direct recirculation of unhairing waters it is possible to obtain savings of water of 64% and savings in raw materials of 32%, also, with an appropriate selection of the sifter it is possible to recycle the water until a maximum of three times, without affecting the quality of the final product. Likewise, it was proven the viability of the direct recirculation of waters of tanning, with raw material savings of 17%. With measures of this type, practical and easy of implementing, the tannery industry could considerably diminish the contamination, to operate in a more secure way and with more production efficiency.
