Abstract
BURITICA, ANDRÉS. SENSORIMOTOR SCHEMES AND OFF-LINE COGNITION. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2018, vol.67, suppl.4, pp.41-60. ISSN 0120-0062. https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v67n4supl.73413.
The text provides a proposal on how to understand off-line or non-situated cognition, on the basis of the notion of corporal scheme. After defining corporal scheme, it goes on to show how the ideas of Jean Piaget, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Shaun Gallagher, and Immanuel Kant can serve as the basis for a notion of corporal or sensorimotor scheme that opens up an avenue for research capable of responding to a critique of the enactive approach: if this approach claims that cognition is situated, how can enactivism account for cases of non-situated cognition?
Keywords : off-line cognition; situated cognition; enactivism; corporal scheme; transcendental scheme.
