Abstract

DUARTE, Evelyn Raquel. Regeneration of adventitious buds on leaf and internode segments of Balfourodendron riedelianum (Engl.) Engl. Colomb. for. [online]. 2022, vol.25, n.1, pp.67-76.  Epub Mar 09, 2022. ISSN 0120-0739.  https://doi.org/10.14483/2256201x.17767.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the regeneration capacity of adventitious buds in explants of leaf segments and internodes from in vitro plants. For this purpose, seeds of Balfourodendron riedelianum were germinated under in vitro conditions, and after one month, leaf and internode explants were grown on Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with combinations of ANA (0.01 mg.L-1), BAP (0.1 mg.L-1) and TDZ (0.1, 0.01 mg.L-1). The best results were obtained when internode fragments were grown in 0.1 mg.L-1 of BAP and 0.01 mg.L-1 of TDZ, in which 26.67±5.77 % of explants provided 12±4.36 % of buds per explant. It was concluded that explants of leaf segments and internodes of B. riedelianum are suitable to induce adventitious buds.
