Abstract

GALEANO-ATEHORTUA, Adolfo. Historical-eschatological ecclesiology for postmoderna paradigm shift in the postmodernist approach to history and hermeneutics. Cuest. teol. [online]. 2017, vol.44, n.102, pp.397-421. ISSN 0120-131X.  https://doi.org/10.18566/cueteo.v44n102.a08.

The significant ecclesiological change experienced today, which was caused by the Second Vatican Council and the transition from modernity to postmodernity, has had as consequence the emergence of a plurality of ecclesiologies. By means of a presentation of the thought inspired by John Henry Newman, Henri de Lubac's Nouvelle Théologie, the evolutionary thought of Teilhard de Chardin, the historical theology, and the theology of science; the article aims to explain how the Second Vatican Council made possible the emergence of a new ecclesiological paradigm by locating the Church within time and history. Likewise, by transcending the static characterization of Church as a perfect society, the static scholastic point of view was abandoned and the salvational-historical one assumed, which is typical within the Bible and the Hebrew thought.

Keywords : Nouvelle Théologie [New Theology], Eschatology, Ecclesiogenesis, Neo-Scholasticism, Theology of Science.
